Fall Trip to The Smoky Mountains

Published on 9 September 2024 at 12:20

When we took a trip in September of last year to the Smoky Mountains, we knew it was too early to see the beautiful autumn foliage. The leaves were still lush and green. This year we are planning to go in mid-October to see the vibrant mix of red, orange, and yellow.

The towns of Pigeon Forge, Townsend, and Gatlinburg in the Great Smoky Mountains provide a wide range of shops and restaurants, as well as many other attractions and activities. These cities are popular with tourists, especially in the fall when the leaves are at their peak.

This area is full of awesome drives; some of the very best are the Blue Ridge Parkway, Cades Cove Loop, Clingmans Dome Road, the Roaring Fork Motor Trail, and Newfound Gap Road, among others. For further information, visit https://www.blueridgemountainlife.com/smoky-mountain-scenic-drives.

Fall just happens to be the perfect time for a visit; however, its also a busy time. You will want to plan ahead to ensure you see everything you want. Be sure to check the foliage forecast. Remember to pack layers; they are necessary as the weather can change quickly.

Last but not least, don't forget to bring a camera. The fall scenery in the mountains is breathtaking, and you will want to capture all the beauty. When we return, I will post my photos to the blog.
